Startup Crush: Path.to
Working at Dwolla provides some great perks. Seeing new acquaintances and old friends launch great projects are a two of our favorites. In this series we share the stories of people, startups and ideas that are bringing beautiful products, simple services or improved processes to life. We can’t help it, we have startup crushes. Today, we want to introduce Path.to, we love what they’re doing.
If you’ve been through the job search process before, you know what a real pain and morale buster it can be. Searching through long, grocery lists of positions with vague job descriptions and no context as to what the company is truly like can drive the sanest job seekers to their breaking point.
Path.to has stepped up to solve the problem of monotonous job searching and recruiting. It could be described as the lovechild of LinkedIn and eHarmony, if they had one. It’s also what makes it so simple. Past professional experience can quickly be uploaded through LinkedIn, and arranged in an appealing way that makes skills and past job experiences stand out. Path.to then takes it upon themselves to match employees with their employer soul mates.
After completing my work experiences and preferences, I am presented with positions that Path.to believes to be a good fit for me, based on their algorithms that take culture, skills, personality, experience and environment into consideration for both the job seeker and the business. Positions are recommended to the user, and rated on a scale of 0-100 as a best match. On the business side, they are presented with introductions to the best candidates that match their criteria and culture. (Because I am not a developer or designer, I don’t have any super hot leads at the moment.)
Another benefit for Path.to is that they give companies the opportunity to broadcast their personality through photos, video, and even current employees. Yup, they give your future potential co-workers the chance to give you testimonials about the company.
I set up our own Dwolla Path.to profile with some of the jobs that we are currently looking to fill at Dwolla. Take it with a grain as salt, as we continue to update our profile with even more positions and add more content.
We really love what Path.to is doing to revolutionize the hiring and job search process. If you have a company that you’re crushing on because of some of the awesome things that they’re doing, let us know in the comments section! It may just become our next startup crush.
