Dwolla Takes 'Best of Show' at Finovate!
Finovate was kind of a long shot for us. To be included was an honor and to take home a “Best of Show” award… Is a little humbling.
The results from this show have resulted in the biggest user registration days we have ever had. I’m not sure as long as I live I’ll ever really truly understand how fortunate we are to be in the room and at the table with some of the companies we are starting to work with.
At Finovate we rolled out a FiSync Dashboard that helps FI’s understand exceptionally complex data sets in an anonymized and simple way. The dashboard gives them access to data delivered beautifully, uniquely, and simply to help them make high level decisions at the FI level, such as:
- Understanding mobile platform usage. We believe this will help determine what banking to develop on what platforms.
- Places / locations generically to best interact with clients and to place branch locations.
- Understanding what social media platforms are most prevalent (if any), which may help them understand how to better communicate with clients.
- Whether usage resides primarily on the web or via mobile.
- A lot of things I’m sure we haven’t thought of yet.
It’s like a Google Analytics dashboard for your bank or credit union.
At the end of the day, the FiSync Dashboard allows FI’s to better understand, better serve, and better connect to their growing social demographic. Imagine simply getting visual answers rather than spreadsheets of data that leave you wondering, “This is great, but what does it mean?” It’s all about context.

What this means for us
It means operating at the level of Discover, Paypal, Mint, Fiserv, and others in terms of technology. We have no illusions about how far we have to go as a company… but to know the technology is being received with open arms… feels darn good.
It’s important to note that information delivered to the FI is part of our FiSync product. Information is delivered to FI’s in an anonymized fashion and data is derived from clients they serve directly through their FI. It’s not system wide.
This is also the first full new project Brandon Ratzlaff worked on. His style is going to start showing up in a lot of places, maybe even on the main page. *Round of applause!
